Tell us a bit about yourself
I am currently a University Student doing a Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilization. When I am not in the office you can find me spending time with my friends and family, reading, or baking and painting (neither of which I am very good at). I love working for NNA DSS and my favourite part of the role is speaking with our lovely customers, they always brighten my day.
When did you join NNA?
I joined NNA Direct Support Service around 9 months ago when we first started in the Mallee region.
What do you see at the biggest challenge the disability sector today?
I see the biggest challenge in the disability sector today being the inaccessibility and lack of clarity for participants and their carers. Consistently the processes set up to access support through the NDIS or other avenues are difficult to understand, hard to challenge and impersonal. I fear that this is only going to become worse with the introduction of the independent assessments.
What do you see as the biggest opportunity for the disability support sector/providers?
I think there are numerous opportunities in the disability sector. For providers, I think there is significant opportunity for providing strong customer focused support where staff are supported to offer the best care possible.
What is a little-known fact about yourself?
I travelled to Europe at the end of 2019 and during the covid lockdown I learnt to do a rubicks cube, I like to keep busy!
Quick Round:
Biggest pet peeve? Poor customer service.
Favourite place in the world? I was fortunate enough to travel right before Covid started and I absolutely loved Germany, I would love to go back! But as cheesy as it may be, anywhere that my family is.
Favourite food? I love literally all food but seafood has to be favourite, ironically I am newly allergic to white fish.
What are you most excited about looking ahead in your job?
I am excited to continue being part of an amazing team and an amazing organization. I am also super excited for the rollout of our new system that will help us to continue offering great support to our staff and clients.
